Finally Halloween

Since Halloween fell on the Sabbath this year the kids didn't do traditional trick or treating. Instead we spread the festivities out over several days...

First, on Thursday, Christopher had a Story Time party at the library. He's the frog on the right.

On Friday we went to the elementary school to watch the costume parade. Christopher, as Scooby-doo this time, paraded around with Kelly, as Dorothy. Leslie, the ballerina, and I watched and took pictures.

There was a headpiece that I made - a little wreath of flowers and ribbon - but she wouldn't wear it. Mostly she just liked chewing on the netting.
Afterschool we went trick or treating with our friends, the Hopkins, to the merchants on Main Street in downtown Pratt. This is the first year we've done it and it was fun. There were lots of people trick or treating so there were a few lines at some of the stores.
After Main Street we went trick or treating at the Wildlife Museum here in Pratt. It was the end of the day so the people inside the museum gave the kids HANDFULS of candy.
Kylee (toothbrush), Cade (toothpaste), Zoee & Allee (princesses), Kelly (Dorothy), Christopher (Scooby-doo), Leslie (ballerina). It was only for kids 5th grade and younger so JJ didn't get to go.

On Saturday we went to the grocery store and the kids paraded around the store and got TONS of candy. They also got to decorate a cookie and color a picture. (Christopher went as Scooby-doo for this one).
Halloween Day we had the kids put on their costumes again so we could take a picture. JJ was a dirtbiker when they went to the grocery store and Christopher decided to be a frog for this picture.
The kids and the pumpkins they carved during Family Home Evening that week. Yes, Kelly is wearing shorts. Crazy girl, but it really wasn't that cold.

I would have thought it was YOUR kids wearing the toothpaste costumes! Talk about a blast from the past - I was even planning to dig up my replica costume of your college version for the Trunk or Treat this year but ended up bagging it since Arwen was sick.

I'm with you, Elise. I totally laughed when my friend told me her kids chose to be toothbrush/toothpaste. Their dad's a dentist, though, so that might be it. I had forgotten that you had a toothpaste costume, too. This year I went as "the mom pushing the stroller".
